Indonesian Early Career Scholars in Dutch Institutions: Challenges and Opportunities
Currently, many young scholars are securing PhD or Postdoc positions in different academic institutions in the Netherlands. This has created both opportunities and challenges for the young researchers and the institutions. In this roundtable discussion, three early-career scholars will present their research projects and explore their experiences with knowledge production within Dutch institution. Additionally, they will discuss their collaborations with academia, the public sector, and civil society, as well as address the opportunities and challenges as researchers from Indonesia in Dutch institutions.
The roundtable will be moderated by an Indonesian academic established in the Netherlands. Finally, the session will conclude with an interactive activity inviting the audience participation. Both on-site and online breakout groups will be formed to facilitate the sharing of insights on the discussed themes and to explore ways to foster more inclusive and meaningful collaborations, especially between academics from Indonesia and the Netherlands.
