
BIOGRAPHY
Annisa Triyanti is an Assistant Professor of Disaster and Climate Risk Governance for Sustainability at the Environmental Governance Group, Copernicus Institute of Sustainable Development, Utrecht University. Her research and teaching focus on addressing water and climate related disasters risks in coastal and delta regions, with a particular emphasis on Asia, including countries such as Indonesia, Vietnam, and India. Ecosystem-based approaches, social capital, cultural heritage, and a community self-governance system, are some of her main research interests.
Using transdisciplinary research approaches, Annisa identifies factors of successful disaster risk reduction and explores new ways to improve its governance. She has also been an advocate in youth, civil society, and young scientist engagement, serving as a stakeholder group representative on the intergovernmental level. For instance, as a young scientist representative for the UNDRR Global Science and Technology Advisory Group (2017-2019) among other roles.
