24 – 26 November 2020, Online
The first “Week of Indonesia-Netherlands Education and Research (WINNER)” was scheduled to take place in June 2020 in Jakarta, but had to be postponed in response to the outbreak of Covid-19. Many parties in both countries have shown great interest to participate in WINNER, for example during the successful Dutch State Visit to Indonesia in March 2020. Meanwhile, a full WINNER week has been scheduled for 21-25 June 2021, confirming that WINNER is intended to become an annual event. To keep up the momentum and to respond to new challenges, such as Covid-19, a kick-off for WINNER is being prepared for November 2020.
Long collaboration history
Indonesia and The Netherlands share a long history of collaboration in research and education. Indonesian and Dutch institutions work together in joint programmes on a broad array of topics, ranging from biodiversity to mutual cultural heritage, from living labs on tourism to disaster management and from fundamental research in materials science to sustainable cities. In WINNER we give the floor to those standing at the heart of those collaborations – to share knowledge and experiences, to inspire each other, and to set a common agenda for working towards achieving the seventeen Sustainable Development Goals together.
Achieving the SDGs – from knowledge to practice
WINNER invites you to present results of joint Dutch-Indonesian research, and to discuss how collaboration in research and education between Indonesia and the Netherlands can contribute to achieving the seventeen Sustainable Development Goals. It is a unique opportunity to reflect on the long history in Dutch-Indonesian collaboration, identify mutual priorities, deepen the ties between the two countries and to form new collaborations.
A diverse programme will be on offer at the Erasmushuis, the National Library and the LIPI campus.
More details on the programme of the WINNER conference will follow soon. If you are interested to participate and/or would like to know more, please sent an e-mail to email@example.com or get in touch with one of the partners.
