The Week of Indonesia-Netherlands Education and Research (WINNER) is an initiative by the Dutch Embassy in Jakarta, the Indonesian National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN), Nuffic Southeast Asia, the Indonesian Academy of Young Scientists (ALMI), the Dutch Research Council (NWO) and the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences (KNAW). WINNER is a yearly recurring event, where researchers, policy makers and societal stakeholders from Indonesia and the Netherlands are invited to present results from research, discuss how to strengthen the collaboration in research and education, identify mutual priorities, share best practices, and make new connections.

To foster these collaborations, a Matchmaking Event for Dutch Knowledge Institutions and Indonesian Knowledge Institutions will be organized. This event will take place on the first day of WINNER (10 October 2023) and aims to bring together Dutch and Indonesian Knowledge Institutions to explore the possibilities to join forces and collaborate. By creating tailored connections based on shared interests and objectives, the event seeks to encourage joint initiatives that drive academic excellence, research advancements, and cultural exchange.

Prior to the event, a comprehensive survey will be sent to participating institutions to gather insights into their needs, interests and potential areas of collaboration. This survey will serve as the foundation for pre-matchmaking, enabling organizers to identify suitable partnership opportunities. During the session, representatives of Dutch and Indonesian institutions will be paired together, based on complementary interests and aspirations. These sessions will encourage open dialogue and the exploration of mutual benefits to establish strong partnerships.

The matchmaking event will focus on diverse collaboration areas, including but not limited to joint research projects, student and faculty exchanges, curriculum development, and sharing of best practices. The emphasis will be on identifying innovative and sustainable ways to enhance educational cooperation.
