BIOGRAPHY
Abbie Yunita is a postdoctoral researcher at the Copernicus Institute of Sustainable Development, Utrecht University. Her research explores the intersections of development, capitalism, environment and heritage/inheritance. Her doctoral research investigates how the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) manifest in contemporary development practice under evolving dynamics of financialisation and ‘North-South’ relations. In her current research, she uses historical and ethnographic methods to study how people perceive climatic/environmental changes in relation to the future of their cultural heritage, with a focus on Lamalera in East Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia. She previously worked for the United Nations (UNORCID and UNEP) in Indonesia and India.
