BIOGRAPHY
Dr. Ir. Peter van der Maas, Professor of Sustainable Water Systems, Van Hall Larenstein University of Applied Sciences. After studies Environmental Science in Groningen and Environmental Hygiene in Wageningen he obtained in 2005 his PhD in Wageningen with a dissertation on an innovative concept for NOx removal from industrial flue gases. As a water technologist, researcher (Wageningen University & Research), and strategic advisor (WLN), Peter worked on water quality management and water technology. His professorship focuses on preserving sufficient and clean freshwater for society, ecology, and the economy, with topics such as rewetting peatland areas and wet cultivation systems.
