BIOGRAPHY
Dr. Laksana Tri Handoko is a Chairman of the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN). He was inaugurated by President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo on 28th April 2021.
Before his appointment as a Chairman of BRIN, he served as a Chairman of Indonesian Institute of Sciences (LIPI, 2018-May 2021), Deputy Chairman of LIPI for Engineering Science (2014-2018) and Director for Informatics Research Center, LIPI (2012-2014). Prior to joining civil servant in LIPI in 2002, he worked as a researcher at the Theory Group of KEK, Tsukuba; ICTP HEP Group, Trieste; and Humboldt Fellow at DESY Theory Group, Hamburg.
He graduated from Kumamoto University Japan in Theoretical Physics. His Magister and Doctoral Degree were all completed at Hiroshima University Japan in Theoretical Elementary Particle Physics.
Throughout his career, Handoko has received various prestigious awards such as Senior Fellow IEEE 2017, ICTP Simons Associate Fellow, 2014 Outstanding Discoveries for the State Award 2010, Outstanding Intellectual Property Award 2009, Asia Pacific ICT Award 2006, and Habibie Award for Basic Science 2004.
