BIOGRAPHY
Dr Inaya Rakhmani, ALMI’s vice president for Science and Education, currently as an assistant Professor at the Department of Communication, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Universitas Indonesia (UI). She is also the director of UI’s Asia Research Centre, and the head of the International Undergraduate Program at UI. She is functioning as communication director also for the Indonesian Young Academy of Sciences (ALMI). Inaya focuses strongly on research in the areas of cultural, political economy of knowledge, information, and entertainment and the role of media in processes of democratization. She is the author of the book on Mainstreaming Islam in Indonesia: Television, Identity, and the Middle Class, published by Palgrave MacMillan, 2016.
