
BIOGRAPHY
Dr. Gumilang Aryo Sahadewo, ALMI’s vice president of Science and Policy, is an assistant professor at the Department of Economics, Gadjah Mada University. He received his doctorate in economics from the University of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, United States. His research interests are on educational economics, tobacco control policy economics, agricultural economics, and experimental economics. His current research includes identifying the economic lives of farmers and ex-tobacco farmers, identifying challenges for teachers and parents in distance learning during the Covid-19 pandemic, and analyzing the impact of home-based interventions to reduce stunting incidents. Dr Gumilang published his work publications in the Journal of Human Resources, the Journal of Development Studies, Tobacco Control, and Gadjah Mada International Journal of Business. Dr Gumilang is also the co-founder of Unison.id, an educational technology application that aims to increase parental involvement in monitoring student learning outcomes.
