BIOGRAPHY
After secondary school, Gerbert earned a Master’s degree in Dutch Business Law at the University of Leiden. In 2005 he earned a Master’s Degree in Business Administration and in 2014 a Master’s Degree in Public Administration. Gerbert also completed his military service, and is a reserve First Lieutenant.
In 1991 Gerbert began working as a lawyer at the Ministry of Agriculture, Nature and Fisheries. In 1995 he was posted in Brussels at the Dutch Permanent Representation. From 2000 onwards he held management positions in The Hague, Brussels, Berlin, and San Francisco.
Gerbert was the Director of European and International Affairs at the Ministry of Economic Affairs. He was responsible for the EU Internal Market policy, and coordinated the European and International policy of the Ministry. Afterwards he we appointed as Consul General of the Netherlands in San Francisco.
In July 2020, he relocated to The Hague and became Program Director at the Directorate General for Enterprise and Innovation at the Ministry of Economic Affairs & Climate Policy.
In 2021 he took on the role of Director of International Policy at the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science.
