
BIOGRAPHY
Daan Westrik is lecturer, course coordinator and coordinator of international projects at Aeres University of Applied Sciences. Daan is graduated with a BSc in Agriculture with a specialization in livestock production. After graduation he became lecturer at the university of applied sciences and he therefore has a broad experience in teaching a wide range of subjects at the level of Higher education. For example dairy production, animal health, animal health economics, farm economics, epidemiology, dairy herd management and international agricultural cooperation. Besides his teaching activities Daan coordinated different international BSc programs.
Daan obtained an MSc in Educational sciences and has a long time experience in executing, managing and coordinating international projects. Mainly focussing on curriculum development in African and Asian countries. These projects consist of curriculum development and revision for educational programs of subjects related to plant and livestock production at the level of TVET an Higher education. In countries like Ghana, Benin, Kenya, Mozambique and Indonesia. These projects include amongst others: analysis of educational institutes, labour market analysis and development of course material and training of teaching staff. Daan recently finished several (NUFFIC) projects related to curriculum revision and development at TVET level. In Benin the project included nine TVET institutes. In Indonesia new curricula were developed for four polytechnics and six SMKs and in Kenia a a teacher training program for TVET teachers was developed and teaching staff trained.
