Dr. Ari Susanti is a forester, lecturer, and researcher at the Faculty of Forestry, Universitas Gadjah Mada, Yogyakarta, Indonesia. She holds a PhD in Human Geography from Utrecht University in the Netherlands where she presented her dissertation on oil palm expansion in Riau Province in Indonesia. She is leading a work package in the Following Frontiers of the Forest City Project.
