BIOGRAPHY

Anita Zaitunah holds a BSc in 1997 from IPB University. She is a lecturer at the Faculty of Forestry of University of Sumatera Utara (USU) (1999-now). In 2004, she received an MSc degree in Geo-information Science and Earth Observation specialization on Forestry for Sustainable Development from the Faculty of Geo-information Science and Earth Observation (ITC) of University of Twente, with support provided by the Netherlands Fellowship Program (NFP). In 2012, she received a Ph.D. from Faculty of Forestry of IPB University. She is now the Head of the Forest Management Laboratory at the Faculty. She is also one of the researchers in JATI-Sumatran Forestry Analysis Study Center at USU.  She has performed numerous studies in forestry and natural resource management. Her current research focuses on spatial analysis in a number of specific sites in North Sumatra including coastal, lake and orangutan habitat
