Rice hulls does not have substantial commercial value and generally present an environmental problem concerning its disposal. This project aims to utilize rice hull into paperboard as packaging for rice, as well as to test and evaluate the final product. Consequently, this project foresees the adoption of a rice hull-based paper bags in different municipalities and Local Government Units (LGUs) in Southern Leyte, Philippines, and subsequently, conduct of trainings and capacity building that will eventually create relevant policies toward utilization of the product. Significant outcomes of the project were the production and utilization of the rice hull bags in the community, the launch of the livelihood program for the selected beneficiaries, and the collaboration with the Local Government Unit. The sustainability of the project is deemed contingent upon routine monitoring and additional assistance.<br />
