
BIOGRAPHY
Utia Suarma teaches at the Department of Environmental Geography, Faculty of Geography, Universitas Gadjah Mada. She completed the Bachelor Program in Physical Geography and the Magister Geo-information for Spatial Planning and Disaster Management Track at the Universitas Gadjah Mada, Graduate School’s Environmental Science Programme. Her main research interests include hydroclimatology, climate change adaptation and its impact on urban settings, nature-based solutions, and hydrometeorological disasters such as floods and extreme weather events. She gained numerous experiences in international collaborations during her duty as the head of the international cooperation unit at the faculty level. Academic collaboration with global university partners includes joint lectures, summer courses, curriculum and module development, thematic training, and MOOCs.
