
BIOGRAPHY
Tatang Muttaqin completed his PhD from the Department of Sociology, University of Groningen, The Netherlands and currently he serves as an Expert Staff of the Minister of Education, Culture, Science and Technology. Previously, he worked at the Ministry of National Development Planning as Director of State Apparatus in 2019-2021 and Director of Higher Education, Science and Technology in 2021-2023. He is also a member of James Coleman Association and a fellow in Groningen Research Centre for Southeast Asia. Beside he wrote articles in nasional newspaper, he also published a chapter in Decentralization and Governance in Indonesia [Eds. Holzhacker, Wittek, Wiltjer, 2015] and an article in School Effectiveness and School Improvement, 1-31 [2019] with the title “The achievement gap in Indonesia? Organizational and ideological differences between private Islamic schools.”
