
BIOGRAPHY
Sonny Mumbunan is the director of the Master Program for Public Policy in Climate Change at the Faculty of Social Sciences, Indonesian International Islamic University (UIII). He also coordinates the Center for Climate and Sustainable Finance at the University of Indonesia (CCSF UI). He was Lead Economist at the World Resources Institute (WRI) Indonesia and had served at Indonesia’s President Offices under the administrations of Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (UKP4) and Joko Widodo (KSP) as expert and senior advisor in green economy, sustainable development, and data governance.
An honorary member of the Indonesian Academy of Young Scientists (ALMI), a former fellow at the Netherlands Institute for Advanced Study (NIAS) in the Humanities and Social Sciences and the Helmholtz Center for Environmental Research (UFZ) in Germany, Sonny received a PhD in Environmental Economics from the University of Leipzig, Germany.
