BIOGRAPHY

Prof. Iskandar Z. Siregar is a forestry scholar and international program leader at IPB University, Indonesia, where he has served as Director of the International Program since 2018. He earned a B.Sc. in Forestry from IPB University, an M.Sc. in Forestry (Tree Breeding) from the University of Canterbury, New Zealand, and a Ph.D. (Dr. forst) from Georg-August University of Göttingen, Germany.

A specialist in silviculture and tree breeding, Prof. Siregar is active in multiple professional networks, including serving as President of the Indonesian Arboriculture Society (MArI) and Acting Country Coordinator of the Southeast Asia Germany Alumni Network (SEAG-Indonesia). He is also an associate member of the International Society of Arboriculture and holds roles in MAPEKI and the Indonesian Breeding Association (PERIPI).

He has led or co-led numerous internationally funded projects supported by organizations such as the Danish Fellowship Center (DFC), German Research Foundation (DFG), International Tropical Timber Organization (ITTO), World Resources Institute (WRI), UK Research and Innovation (UKRI), and the European Commission (Erasmus+), advancing sustainable forestry and global research collaboration.
