
BIOGRAPHY
Prof. Noor Cholis Idham has been part of the Department of Architecture at Universitas Islam Indonesia (UII), Yogyakarta, since 1996. Over the years, he has helped guide the department’s growth and currently serves as its Head, supporting its development into one of Indonesia’s respected architecture programs. He earned his Ph.D. and Master of Architecture from Eastern Mediterranean University after completing his undergraduate studies at UII. His academic interests include building safety, vernacular design, tropical comfort, and Islamic architecture fields, in which he has written books and papers on earthquake resilience, thermal performance, structural systems, and mosque design. Outside the classroom, Prof. Idham is a registered architect with the Indonesian Institute of Architects (IAI). He has contributed to numerous design projects and remains actively involved in some design competitions.
