Penny Hestianti Marsella was born in Palembang in 1993. She received a bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering from the STT PLN University – Jakarta in 2011. She was a PLN’s Ambasador 2016 and has been the second winner of PLN’s Science and Technology Olympiad in 2014. She joined PLN, the Indonesian state-owned electricity utility company in 2011 as a SCADA engineer of the Technical Division. At present she is strongly involved in island electrification by means of renewable energy systems. For this reason she runs the Banka Belitung project of PLN.
