Paul van Essen is a program manager of SIMAVI in Indonesia. He has more than ten years of experience in the international water sector in Asia, Africa, and South America. He mainly focuses on capacity building and intercultural exchange in the water sector. He is now responsible for the Sustainable Sanitation and Hygiene in Eastern Indonesia (SEHATI) project. SEHATI helps the local government to implement the community-led total sanitation (CLTS) in 7 districts in the eastern part of Indonesia. Apart from his project in Indonesia, He is involved in other SIMAVI projects in Uganda and Kenya.
