BIOGRAPHY
Prof. Koos Biesmeijer – Scientific Director of Naturalis Biodiversity Center and Professor of Natural Capital at Leiden University.
Koos is an ecologist with a scientific focus on spatio-temporal patterns in biodiversity and causes of change, particularly in terrestrial systems and plant-pollinator interactions. Besides scientific research this increasingly includes working in broad societal consortia (IPBES, CBD, EU) to improve and restore biodiversity, strengthen engagement with nature and biodiversity and build nature-based solutions for a sustainable future.
