BIOGRAPHY

Franciscus Ginting acquiring his medical degree from Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) in 1991. He finalized his clinical training residency and master’s degree in Internal Medicine Faculty of Medicine in 2005 after which he worked as a lecturer and staff at the Department of Internal Medicine, Faculty of Medicine USU, and Adam Malik General Hospital, Medan, Indonesia, and as a consultant in tropical medicine – infectious disease in Adam Malik General Hospital. In 2023, he obtained his PhD degree at the University of Amsterdam

During the last decade, he has been actively involved in the field of infectious disease as head of the antimicrobial stewardship program at Adam Malik General Hospital Medan, head of the Committee Infection and Prevention Control, and Head of Division Tropical Medicine and Infectious Disease Department of Internal Medicine Universitas Sumatera Utara. He serves as an invited speaker for the national hospital accreditation commission, International Conference on Tropical Medicine and Infectious Diseases, Indonesian Urogynaecology Association, Indonesian Society of Internal Medicine, Indonesian Society for Clinical Microbiology, Indonesian Society of Tropical and Infectious Disease. Currently he participates in research collaborations with (1) Oxford Clinical Research Unit (EOCRU), U.S. Centre for Disease Control and Prevention, and CDC – Global Action in Healthcare Network.
