
BIOGRAPHY
Teske Schoffelen is an internist-infectious disease specialist in Radboud in Nijmegen. In recent years, her research has focused on antimicrobial stewardship. She has coordinated the development of the ESCMID (European society of clinical microbiology and infectious diseases) guidelines on Antimicrobial Stewardship in the Emergency Department. Currently she is involved in several hospital and regional antimicrobial stewardship projects and research as well as implementation of the drive-AMS program in LMICs. She is engaged in the development of ISAC-AbxGuide (ISAC – International Society of Antimicrobial and Chemotherapy), an easy-to-use open access online database compiling evidence on pathogen-directed antibiotic treatment, to address the gaps causing inappropriate antibiotic use in low-resource settings.
