BIOGRAPHY

Angeline Basuki managed restoration projects for Konsorsium Kota Tua Jakarta, a heritage management organisation that renovates and re-operates colonial heritage properties around Fatahillah Square. Trained as an architect in Jakarta, Indonesia, she also earned a master degree in Heritage Management at University of Kent and Athens University of Economics and Business in Athens, Greece. Her career also extents to natural conservation. She involved in mangrove and peatland restoration initiatives in Kalimantan and Nusa Tenggara. She was part of architectural research team for heritage landscapes masterplan in Muaro Jambi and Tana Toraja, commissioned by Ministry of Education and Culture and Ministry of Public Works and Housing respectively. Occasionally, she contributed in architectural research, publications and exhibitions, with special interest on the 20th century including Dipl.-Ing. Arsitek: German-trained Indonesian architects from the 1960s, Berlage di Nusantara, Learning from Mangunwijaya and Indonesia and the Amsterdam School: When culture crosses the ocean. Angie lives in Jakarta.
