BIOGRAPHY
Afrizal is a professor of sociology at the Department of Sociology, University Andalas. He has researched land use conflicts in Indonesia for over two decades, especially oil palm plantation conflicts. His latest publication is Kehampaan Hak: Masyarakat vs Perusahaan Sawit di Indonesia (Yayasan Obor 2023) with Ward Berenschot, Ahmad Dhiaulhaq, and Otto Hospes.
