Strengthening Knowledge Partnerships Between Indonesia and the Netherlands through NL Knowledge House Matchmaking
Indonesia and the Netherlands share a strong commitment to advancing innovation in education for the future, with the goal of enhancing the internationalisation and competitiveness of higher education in Indonesia.
As part of the 6th WINNER Conference, the NL Knowledge House (NLKH) will host its Matchmaking Event on 7 October 2025, head of the official WINNER opening ceremony. This Matchmaking Event provides a networking platform that connects government agencies, researchers, non-government organisations, potential investors, entrepreneurs, and education enthusiasts — all working to identify opportunities for collaboration in priority areas.
The Role of Matchmaking
Matchmaking provides a structured process for connecting partners with the relevant expertise, competence, and resources to work effectively together. By creating space for dialogue and exchange, it helps generate new ideas, facilitates knowledge sharing, and supports the development of collaborative projects between Indonesian and Dutch institutions.
Thematic Areas of Collaboration
In line with the WINNER 2025 theme “Building a Sustainable Future through Education and Research”, the matchmaking event will focus on selected priority areas that reflect the shared strategic interests of Indonesia and the Netherlands:
- Maritime and Logistics
- Food Security and Agriculture
- Water Management
- Health
- Semiconductor and Microelectronics
- Islamic Studies
- Cultural Heritage
- Digital Transformation & Cyber
Towards Stronger Collaboration
The NLKH Matchmaking Event is intended to strengthen links between Dutch and Indonesian knowledge institutions, including both research universities and universities of applied sciences. By identifying potential partners and aligning expertise at an early stage, the event contributes to building long-term academic cooperation and impactful joint initiatives.
How the 2025 Matchmaking Works
For WINNER 2025, the matchmaking follows a more structured process. Indonesian institutions are invited to prepare collaboration proposals, which are reviewed in advance by NLKH members. Selected proposals will then be matched with Dutch partners and further explored during the matchmaking event on 7 October. This approach ensures that discussions are focused, relevant, and oriented towards concrete opportunities for collaboration.
