Event Details
In line with the UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration (2021–2030), this session highlights the ongoing effort to integrate ecosystem and landscape restoration into higher education curricula across Asia. The session aims to highlight the role of transformative education in advancing ecosystem and landscape restoration, present progress on the Restoration Education curriculum framework, and invite stakeholder perspectives to refine its themes, content, and delivery methods. By bringing together educators, students, and employers, the discussion will also explore opportunities for building partnerships and collaborative implementation to ensure the curriculum responds to regional learning needs and diverse ecological contexts.
Through a talk show and round-table discussion, participants will contribute directly in shaping the curriculum while sharing ideas on the knowledge, skills, and capacities needed for effective restoration. The session is expected to generate new perspectives on restoration education, broaden awareness of the initiative, identify collaboration opportunities for piloting and scaling, and strengthen the regional network on supporting restoration capacity development.
