BIOGRAPHY

Associate Prof. Dr. Irdika Mansur is a senior lecturer at the Department of Silviculture, Faculty of Forestry and Environment, IPB University, where he has taught since 1990. He formerly served as Director of SEAMEO BIOTROP (2014–2020) and currently leads the Centre for Post-mining Reclamation Studies at IPB University. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Forestry from IPB University, Master’s degree from the University of Canterbury, New Zealand, and PhD from the University of Kent, England. With expertise spanning silviculture, agroforestry, phytoremediation, and forest and land restoration, he has supervised students at Bachelor’s, Master’s, and PhD levels and contributed extensively to research and consultancies on post-mining reclamation since 1995. Associate Prof. Irdika has introduced innovative approaches such as integrating local tree species, essential oil-bearing plants, and constructed swamp forests into mine rehabilitation. He is currently representing IPB University in the CIFOR-ICRAF Restoration Education project, supporting the co-development of educational frameworks to strengthen restoration capacity in Asia.
