Engaging local communities in participating in an online platform is an approach to enhance water quality data and promote efforts to improve water quality in the Brantas Basin. In 2022, the website brantasae.ub.ac.id (BrantaSae) was launched through a collaboration involving Brawijaya University, Hanze University of Applied Sciences Groningen, Deltares, and Delft University of Technology. It is hosted by Brawijaya University and serves as the sister site of climatescan.org. The Brawijaya University student association promoted BrantaSae during their Water Day 2023 activities. In July 2023, we organized a competition called the BrantaSae Challenge. To date, the development of BrantaSae has attracted nearly 500 entries from various users spanning from the upstream to the downstream of the Brantas Basin. In the future, Brawijaya University, as the host, aims to continue filling the gap in water quality information. However, it’s important to note that local communities and governmental agencies may have diverse perspectives on the desired behavior and characteristics of BrantaSae. This seminar highlights the progress of BrantaSae and emphasizes the importance of incorporating inputs from all stakeholders to improve its functionality.
