Prof. Rijanta is a Full Professor in Rural Geography at the Department of Geography, Faculty of Geography, Universitas Gadjah Mada, Yogyakarta, Indonesia (1988 – present). He holds a PhD in Geography from Universitas Gadjah Mada and Utrecht University in the Netherlands based on hits research on rural diversification in Yogyakarta Special Province. He has been active in collaborating with various actors from governments, communities and other researchers in Indonesia. He is leading the Indonesian part of the Following Frontiers of the Forest City Project.
