
BIOGRAPHY
Dr. Kei Otsuki is Professor and chair of International Development Studies at Faculty of Geosciences of Utrecht University. Kei holds a PhD in Development Sociology from Wageningen University and MSc and BA degrees from the University of Tokyo. Previously she worked at United Nations University as a Research Associate in the field of international cooperation and development. Currently, she works among others on the impacts of the intended new capital city of Indonesia under the NOW Merian Fund project titled “Following Frontiers of the ‘Forest City’: Towards Sustainable and Inclusive Urbanization in Kalimantan and Beyond”
She co-leads a research project: Following Frontiers of the Forest City – Towards Sustainable and Inclusive Urbanization in Kalimantan and Beyond, together with Pak Rijanta, GadjaH Mada University, Indonesia. The project site: https://forestcity.sites.uu.nl/
