Ir. Peter Letitre is an experienced international project manager and advisor with a broad knowledge and experience in the water sector. He has 35 years of working experience in more than 20 countries.
Peter obtained his B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Land and Water Use from Wageningen University (September 1981 and January 1985, respectively) with Irrigation and Hydrogeology as the main subjects. For 3.5 years, he worked in Ecuador on design, implementation and management of irrigation and drinking water supply projects. From 1989 to 1995, he worked at the Eduardo Mondlane University (Department of Civil Engineering) in Mozambique as a lecturer and researcher on Water Resources Engineering and general coordinator of the Netherlands Mozambican Inter-University cooperation program through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs/DGIS.
After his return to the Netherlands, he worked from 1995-1998 at the Faculty of Civil Engineering of Delft University of Technology (DUT) as a Sr. Project manager and Deputy Director of the Centre for International Cooperation (CICAT). He managed various water related international Inter-University cooperation and capacity building projects in countries such as India, Kenya, and Tanzania.
From 2008-2021 Peter Letitre works for Deltares as senior project manager and strategic advisor and managed various national and international projects in the field of Integrated Water Resources Management and Integrated Urban Water and Coastal Zone Management. He was director of the International Groundwater Resources Assessment Centre (IGRAC) and headed large Dutch and international integrated programs on Urban Master planning, (flood management (Water security 2100) and climate proofing (Delta model). Peter was overall project manager of the Beira Masterplan 2035 and the Green infra4 Beira project in Mozambique. From 2015-2020 Peter worked as representative of Deltares in Indonesia and headed various Urban Flood Resilience projects in Indonesian such as NCICD in Jakarta. Since his return in The Netherlands he is project manager of a Coastal Protection project in Beira.
