BIOGRAPHY
Dr Jan Nouwen is a chairman for research master programmes as well as a coordinator for research & global health education at Erasmus MC, University Medical Centre Rotterdam. Apart from his structural duty, he is also a trainer for subspecialty infectious diseases – internal medicine at Erasmus MC. When Erasmus MC allowed the minor programmes to be conducted in foreign countries, he initiated Global Health minor.
Within this programme, more than 100 medical students have been sent out to more than 40 foreign partners in 20 countries every year. Until now, he is very much involved in curriculum development and innovation and internationalisation of education at Erasmus MC.
