BIOGRAPHY

Dr. Anis Karuniawati’s research focuses on prevention of emergence or spread of antimicrobial resistant bacteria and infection control in Indonesia. Since 1991, she works as lecturer and researcher in the Department of Microbiology, Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Indonesia. In 2001, she finished her PhD in Hohenheim University, Stuttgart-Germany. She received her certification as clinical microbiologist in 2001. From 2014-2019, she was the secretary of National AMR Control Committee, Ministry of Health and actively involved in the development of National Action Plan on AMR and National AMR Surveillance System. She serves as the current chair of this National AMR Committee.
