Dr. David Speksnijder is a veterinarian at Utrecht University. In 2017, he gained his PhD degree on antimicrobial prescribing behaviour of large animal veterinarians. David has been involved in several international consultancy missions, commissioned by amongst others FAO and WHO. Currently, David is running several projects in the Netherlands and Indonesia related to antimicrobial use practices of both veterinarians and farmers and co-supervisor of 2 PhD students. Besides, he is involved in a Dutch-Indonesian partnership in which he is co-supervisor of a PhD student working on establishing a monitoring and surveillance system for AMR and antimicrobial use in farm animals.
