BIOGRAPHY

Amalia Suryani has twelve years’ experience in energy and environment sector. She started her career in the Indonesian Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources. In 2010, she joined the Clinton Foundation as an Energy Efficiency Analyst, supporting the Jakarta government in implementing energy efficiency measures for buildings and street lighting. Subsequently from 2011 until 2018, Amalia worked for GIZ as a Renewable Energy Advisor in the Energising Development (EnDev) project. EnDev is partnering with the Indonesia government in implementing capacity development programs and policy advisory regarding rural electrification initiatives in the country. During this time, Amalia acted as the project’s Team Leader for three years, managing the support program for photovoltaic mini-grids and micro-hydro power plants. Amalia holds a Master’s degree in Environmental and Energy Management from the University of Twente in the Netherlands. She is currently pursuing her second Master’s degree in Universität Leipzig, Germany, to broaden her expertise in the sustainable development area.
