Max Ammer

Max Ammer has been working on marine conservation through his professional dive activities in Raja Ampat, in Papua since the early 90-ies. In 2009, he established the Raja Ampat Research and Conservation Centre (RARCC), an NGO focused on engaging indigenous communities in the deployment of financial self-reliant projects and small businesses that stimulate conservation. For his efforts, he received the “Visionary Conservationist Award”, granted by Conservation International, for his “tireless efforts to reveal and protect the stunning natural beauty of Raja Ampat and promote its sustainable use.”
